Today I happened to come accross an excellent blog post from the head engineer at Google They are responding to complaints about information farms with inferior quality content artificially getting ranked within their results pages.
When we write a blog post and intend it to be informational, it is neccessary to make sure the content is not only original but above set standards for usefulness and user need. Building an information farm is acceptible if the livestock on your farm is of good quality.
People will flock to the door of your content farm if the ability to learn comes from what you write. We are a hungry breed for data. Helping to feed the public the meal they are asking for is what we are accomplishing. Quality is the only way you're work is going to get to the people who actually need it.
