An evaluation of the results and conclusions from Zimbardo's prison experiment. It looks at factors which may have affected the results of the experiment. The impact of the roleplaying element of the participants and the situational discrepancies between a real and simulated prison, are included for discussion. The validity of the Stanford prison experiment conclusions (despite the possible interference from unavoidable factors arising from the nature of the experiment) seem likely to be pretty accurate. Ethical concerns are, however, highlighted.
