Baby Boomer Retirement: Where to Keep a Will: Once you have written a will and have your signed, original copy of it in your hands, what are you going to do with it?  Should you put it in a plastic bag and store it in the refrigerator?  Most legal authorities believe that this is not a good idea.  However, there are alternatives.

For example, you could store your will in a safe deposit box at your bank.  However, do you live in a state that requires a court order if an executor needs to get into a safe deposit box?  If so, this could be an additional burden and expense for the executor.
