Do we Americans really believe that we are too dumb to learn the metric system? While everyone from Europeans, to Asians, South Americans and Africans are able to use this system, we Americans seem to wring our hands and complain about how hard it would be to change.
I don't believe that Americans are too dumb to use the Metric System. I think we simply lack the confidence to try something new and better. However, as you will see in this article, our failure to make the change has been expensive and dangerous, and it is costing us more every year. The sooner we make the change, the better off we all will be.
