Baby Boomer Retirement: Depression Is Not a Normal Part of Aging: As a resident of an over-55 active adult community, most of the people I encounter each day are active, involved, happy and enjoying their lives.
However, there are also people in our community who never seem to come outside. They do not engage in social activities, get exercise or visit their neighbors ... all signs of depression.
Depression does not have to be considered to be a normal part of aging. It should be treated in the same ways we treat depression in younger people ...
